Howdy all.

May I request the wiring diagrams for the drivers side door handle electronics and related antennas/computers?

Have the following codes I'd like to troubleshoot as my drivers side keyless entry doesn't work. It's the system where you touch the handle to lock and unlock. Neither lock or unlock work but all interior and passenger side items function as intended.

B1365:31-6C
B136F:31-6C
B10CA:1F-2F

Thanks all!

Even if I have to pay for them, I don't really mind. I just want a source for them whether it be AllData, Haynes, Factory Service Manual, etc. :) Thanks for tagging him!

A little background on me...

Medically retired SSgt in the USAF as a radar technician on the AWACS. Did that for 6 years until my injuries caused a forced retirement.

Now, I am an engineer working on multiple military systems selling, designing, troubleshooting wire harnesses. So I am not new to wiring and know my away around reading them but I have little experience in CANBUS if this car operates on that but I do get the concept behind it.

Thank you for your service! AWACS have always Interested me. Which type did you primarily serve with?

You guys might get along just fine. ๐Ÿ˜†

It was my absolute pleasure to serve. Wish I could have made it a career.

I worked on the E-3A, E-3B and E-3C versions. Stationed at good ole' Tinker AFB, OK. Never got to PCS to anywhere else. :(

Thinking about it now, it MAY be a fuse. There was an aftermarket alarm/immobilizer/tracker installed in the vehicle and of course the work was sub-par with what I would consider acceptable. I removed it and fixed all of the wiring but I have no clue what was tapped into because A. no diagrams were available for the box(es) I removed and B. don't have a factory wiring diagram. However, the symptoms I have appear to be fuse related (hopefully) after doing some extensive searching on the forums here. I'm at page 10 or so into the electronics section and have read each one related to my problem so far. At least one or two were a fuse. But all my boxes I removed were from the BCM under the passenger kick panel. The fuses for these I understand should be in the hatch area in back.

Take your time good Sir! It's for a 2016. I appreciate any help I can get! Indeed checked all fuses when I got home from work and sure enough, all are good at the BCM and in trunk area. So now is to trace wires and signals.

I am worried that maybe the BCM got fried because as I said, the alarm install wasn't all that great and one wire they cut was a white/yellow wire which appears to be for the front door lock I guess? Found that on another alarm install site but I spliced it and still getting the codes. They also spliced into the red wire on the push button ignition and I fixed that too. Weird thing is, I tested it with the red disconnected and the car started and ran as it should. LOL

So the issue here is the 3rd code you posted. While the first two specifically pertains to the left door handle (Driver front) the third is the left door handle (Drive rear) antenna.

The system as a whole utilizes 3 separate communications platforms. High speed CAN BUS, Medium speed CAN BUS & LIN BUS networks.

Each door is equipped with a multifunction module that handles the requests over the network and transforms them into action.

The communication between the DDM (front to rear) in done over the LIN BUS (single wire). Corrosion or poor electrical connection on this single wire will cause a whole range of issues.

Could you please explain in detail exactly what is working properly and what is acting up? Lots of factors at play here.

Wow, thank you much for that!

The first two codes I MAY have fixed. Looking at some wiring diagrams of the BCM it appears that one of the wires that was cut and routed through the box was the white and yellow wire which is related to the drivers side doors. I fixed that wiring mess this weekend and scanned again for codes last night. The only code that popped back up (so far) is the rear door antenna (3rd code.) I used FORScan to scan the entire car when I got it, cleared them and ran testing of the RFA and BCM. Running tests on the RFA I get an immediate code for the rear antenna and the other two seem to pop up later so I will give those two another day or so and scan again before I call it fixed, BUT I think I got those.

As for the antenna code and my symptoms... EVERYTHING works on the car EXCEPT for lock and unlock on the drivers door handle for the touch feature. I can lock and unlock them with the remote and the buttons inside without issue. My first thing is going to be opening up the door and checking if it's connected at the handle and then check for corrosion or bent/damaged contacts/wiring.

From there, I will check the voltage, should I be seeing 12V or 5V at the door handle connection?

Depending if I have voltage or not, I will check wiring using the half way method... Inputs and outputs of the start and end of the circuit.

We shall see this weekend if I have some free time. My weekends usually consist of detailing other people's cars and I have to put mine on hold.

So, fixed my intelligent access problem. It was probably a dirty connection or something but I removed the door handle on the drivers side, checked for voltage and everything was good there. Cleaned the contacts and nothing changed, plugged it all in, unplugged about 3 times before I gave up.

I noticed the door handle when removed, was shaped so that it could be used on either side of the car. Mr. Crabs! I have an idea!

Swapped the drivers and passenger door handles around. Everything on the drivers side worked. Went back to button up the passenger side and it ALSO was working. LOL. So I fixed my issue with the intelligent access and am beat from a long day at work so I will scan again tomorrow to see if the code still exists. If not, I'll chaulk it up to a reseat of the connector.
